Best Bosom Friends Forever (BBFF)

Me and Jannah (she's the pretty one).

Once upon a time, I lived next to a beautiful girl named Jannah. We were struggling new mothers who were learning how to have babies and still get dressed each day. Jannah knew how to make me smile, and she knew how to listen. She was always just one door away.

The time came for our families to move out into the world away from the security of college life. I knew I wasn't very good at keeping in touch with old friends, and honestly, I thought it would be the same with her. But something happened. I missed her. I realized that I needed her friendship in my life. And, since then, I haven't let go of it. She wasn't my friend just because she happened to live next door. My Father in Heaven led her to me to be a lifelong (actually a forever) bosom friend. I know she thinks that she needs my friendship more than I need hers, but I beg to differ. She's one of those people that changes your life. Once you know her, you can't help but be a better person.

And now, although I don't get to see her often, my family and I spend lots of time snuggling into this quilt Jannah made for me a few birthdays ago.
Today, for her birthday, I was dying to make her one in return, but alas, it will have to be the thought that counts this year, because I simply can't afford the fabrics right now. One day, hopefully sooner than later, I will return this favor in an attempt to be the friend to her that she is to me.

So Happy Birthday, my Beautiful Friend. One day you will know how much your friendship means to me.
Lots of Love,
Emily

  2. thanks for coming by the blog - I'd love to swap links - it's always good to have another take on a book, especially from someone concerned about the "clean" factor!

and yes... fabric is beyond expensive... but I'm sure it would have been a gorgeous quilt!
