Drawing Together

A while ago, I saw this post over at Blue Yonder, and I got to thinking about my confidence in my drawing abilities...basically I don't have ANY confidence in my drawing abilities. BUT I at least had a desire to improve, so I bought one of the books by Ed Emberley that Stefani recommended. I bought the one I needed most...Drawing Faces.

The day it arrived, I set it out on the table just before Bubs and Welly-Bells got home from various activities. Bubs saw three pencils next to the book and said, "We're all going to draw together?" Absolutely, I answered. And we did. For hours.

Ed Emberley does an amazing job in this book of breaking down faces into manageable shapes that even I can draw without frustration.

The only problem I see? Now I want his other drawing books, too.

  1. I used to LOVE those types of books growing up. What a fun activity for you guys to do together. By the way- I love your idea of a three ring binder and page protectors for saving art. I am totally going to do that. Thanks for the great idea.

  2. Hooray! I love Ed Emberley! Does he have a book on making cute little drawings with thumb- and finger- prints? My sister and I always used to make those (still do, sometimes) and I think we got it from one of his books.
